Nevada police took a man into custody for not just one but several seemingly unrelated crimes they are claiming he committed. Among them, the man stands accused of theft crimes involving a Frito Lay box truck he is accused of having stolen. This all occurred over the course of one day, beginning at around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 24, 2017.

Early that Friday morning, a 911 call came in to police from a Frito Lay employee, who reported the theft of her company vehicle by someone described only as an unidentified male. The truck was purportedly taken as it was being loaded with the products it was to deliver that day. Officers were initially unsuccessful in locating the vehicle, but the truck was found later that morning via GPS tracking.

In what, at the time, seemed to be a separate investigation, a local convenience store reportedly had video showing a suspect entering and attempting to use a stolen credit device. Later that same evening, a suspicious individual was reported in a different area nearby. When Nevada Police made contact with this individual, it was purportedly discovered that this man was the same suspect from the vehicle theft that had taken place that morning, and the suspect was taken into custody.

Certified crime scene investigators went over the stolen vehicle to collect evidence, which was sent to a laboratory for analysis. In the meantime, the 41-year-old defendant is facing charges of class D felonies relating to stealing and tampering with a motor vehicle. While awaiting the results of the analysis, the defendant will undoubtedly wish to secure the representation of an experienced criminal defense attorney. A lawyer will work with the accused to ensure his legal rights are protected and will be able to begin planning defense strategies. In fact, anyone in Nevada who is facing charges involving larceny, theft crimes or the like has the right to the representation of a criminal defense lawyer of his or her choosing, and an experienced attorney can prove invaluable in offering legal counsel to help fight for the best possible outcome.
