Three women were arrested in Las Vegas on accusations of being part of a what has been called a “Victoria’s Secret theft ring” by the Henderson police. Two of the three are facing charges of grand larceny, in addition to burglary, petit larceny and other charges. According to police, the first two women were arrested in North Las Vegas on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 29; the third woman was not taken into custody until the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 1.
The women have been accused of stealing approximately $10,000 of Victoria’s Secret merchandise from various Las Vegas area stores. A total of five incidents were reported, but it was not immediately clear when four of them took place. Per police statements, the particulars in one of the purported thefts include the women entering a Victoria’s secret on Village Walk Drive, grabbing merchandise from display tables and running out.
Upon arrest, the accused were taken to the Henderson Detention center. The first woman was booked on seven counts of participating in a retail theft ring and on burglary. The second woman, one count of petit larceny, one count of petit larceny, and three counts of burglary and of grand larceny less than $3,500. The third accused woman was booked on one count of grand larceny less than $3,500, one count of petit larceny and two counts of burglary. According to records, two of the women are no longer in custody, while the third is being held on $95,000 bail.
No details have yet been made public as to the nature of the evidence against the women, so it’s as yet impossible to speculate what their lawyers’ defense strategies may be. The lack of details surrounding the four other purported incidents may yet surface, but so far, information is inconclusive. An experienced criminal defense attorney will work with a defendant in cases such as this of larceny or other theft accusations to protect the legal rights of the accused. A skilled criminal defense attorney can often be crucial in securing the best possible outcome for defendants.
